Cost of Elements

This screen is the second step in the tool, to compute the cost oriented tariffs. The amounts displayed here are the result of one of the two computation methods, based on General or Analytical accounting respectively. They cannot be changed manually and they reflect the Net Costs and Specific Costs that will have to be dispatched among all the services and network segments. All of them are expressed in the local currency of the country.

The net costs are linked to the infrastructure of the company:

• Cost of international transmission;
• Cost of national transmission;
• Cost of international switch;
• Cost of national switch;
• Cost of network access;
• Cost of invested capital;
• Other common costs;
• Inefficiency costs.

Some other costs are specific to some parts of the infrastructure and are computed in a second step:

• Costs specific to international incoming traffic;
• Costs specific to international traffic;
• Costs specific to far international traffic;
• Costs specific to local client traffic;
• Costs specific to other local operators' traffic;
• Costs specific to outgoing interconnection traffic.

To get there, analytical or general accounting method must be chosen (analytical will always be preferred when available). When done, the computation is launched by pressing the "Compute" button.

The "Report" button allows for generation of a report containing the result of the evaluation. If both methods have been used one after the other, both will appear in the report. 

The "Routing Table" button allows for display of the matrix that is used to dispatch the costs across the services and network segments.

The result of the dispatch can be seen when pressing the "Cost Distribution" button. This cost matrix will be the starting point of the next step: the Unit Cost computation.
